Jacobs was a regular at her local theater, the Pittsburgh Playhouse on Saturdays to enroll in acting classes. In the ages of 8 she began her acting studies. When she graduated from Mt. Jacobs left Lebanon High School and moved to New York City, in 2000. She became part of Group 33, the Drama Division of Group 33. She graduated in 2004 with a bachelor's degree.
